This tutorial was written for those that have a working knowledge of PSP. Supplies Needed: PSP X (any version will work) Tubes of choice I used artwork by Marjolein Gulinski. To use this artwork please visit MPT Scrap kit of choice - I used Cherished by me Ivy of choice Boxes of choice Twig branch of choice Ribbon wrapper of choice Decorative butterflies of choice Mask is by Monti of http://www.montispixelplayground.com/ I used Monti's blinds mask Xenofex 2 - constellation **optional** Font of choice The scrapkit I used was called cherished by me. It can be found HERE or HERE Ok let's get started... Open 600x600 canvas. Fill layer with white. Open mask of choice. Reduce it in psp. I used Monti's blinds mask. new layer. Fill with a color of choice that will go with the tubes you have selected. Apply mask to this layer. You will be left with the circle blinds. Merge group on mask layers. Open twig branch of choice. Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize as needed. Arrange it in the middle at the top of the canvas. Add a drop shadow of choice. Open ivy of choice. Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize as needed. If need be rotate it so that you have ivy that is almost straight up and down. Arrange over to one side of the branch. You want the top of the ivy to almost look like it is tacked to the twig. (see my tag as example) When happy with the placement, duplicate layer and mirror. Add a drop shadow of choice to both ivy layers. Open rectangular box of choice. Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize as needed. Rotate slightly to the left, about 10 degrees. Position towards the right hand side. (see my tag as example) When happy with the placement move this layer directly beneath the ivy layer. You want some of the ivy to basically spill over the box. Now look at the top of the box and carefully remove a tiny bit of the ivy to make it look like the ivy is actually through the box. You may have to zoom in slightly to do this. When you have done this copy and paste the same box as a new layer again. Resize as needed. Now rotate it about 75 degrees to the left. It is almsot upright now. Move to the opposite side. Arrange directly beneath the ivy as you did already. Again you want the ivy slightly spilling over the box. Remove a small bit of the ivy wherever is ok for you to do so to make it look again like the ivy is coming through the box. When happy with both box layers add a drop shadow of choice. Open ribbon wrapper of choice. Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize fairly small. Rotate left 90 degrees. Now make it look like it is hanging from the branch just off from the middle. (see my tag as example) Open a different more square box of choice. Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize quite small compared to the first two boxes. Rotate about 25 degrees to the left. Place it under the ribbon wrapper so it looks like the wrapper is holding it up. When happy with the placement add a drop shadow of choice. Click on the ribbon wrapper. Duplicate. Now move the wrapper and arrange it to look like it is tying the two main boxes together. You may have to play with the rotation to get it how you want it to look. Add a drop shadow of choice to both ribbon wrapper layers. Open the same ivy you just used. Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize very small. Decorate inside the smallest box. When happy add a drop shadow of choice. Open first tube of choice. Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize as needed. Add it to one of the boxes. You may have to adjust the rotation and size to get it how you want it to look inside. When happy add a drop shadow of choice. Open second tube of choice. Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize as needed. Repeat the exact same steps except to the opposite box. Open butterfly of choice. I used one that came with the tube but any will do. Ensure you are adding each butterfly as a new layer each time. Decorate inside the small box on the ivy. Decorate around the canvas. Place them wherever you think will look nice. Add a drop shadow of choice to each one when happy. Add your text where you are happy now. Apply any appropriate copyright information. If you do not wish to animate simply merge visible all layers together. Save as a png and you're done. If you do wish to animate, merge all layers except the bottom 2; the mask layer and the white background layer. Once the majority of layers are merged, hide the merged layer. Now merge the remaining 2 layers together. Rename as background if you wish to help you keep it straight. To animate: Hide the top layer and make sure you are on the background layer. Using your selection tool, set it to circle or elipse, your preference. Draw out the circle. A good basis is to go round the blind circle. Duplicate x2 for 3 layers in total. Hide the first 2 duplicated layers. Click on the bottom layer. Apply xenoflex constelllation whatever setting you want. Make sure random seed is on 1. Hit ok. Hide this layer. Unhide the layer right above it. Apply the same filter only changing the random seed. Hide this layer when done and unhide the remaining duplicated layer. Again repeat the same steps only changing the random seeds. Selections none. Unhide all layers. Click on the very top layer. Duplicate that x2 for 3 in total. Merge visible all the layers so you are left with 3 in total. Save as a psp file. Open in animation shop and hit play. If you are happy save as a gif and you are done. |
