This tutorial was written for those that have a working knowledge of PSP. Supplies Needed: PSP X (any version will work) Tube(s) of your choice I used artwork by Zindy Nielsen. To use this artwork please visit MPT Scrap kit of choice - I used Aurora's Dream Circular template of choice Flowers of choice Ribbon of choice Bow of choice Butterfly(s) of choice VM Extravaganza - transmission Doodle of choice Frame of choice Font of choice - I used MeaCulpa The scrap kit used in this tutorial is called Aurora's Dream by me. It can be found HERE or HERE Ok let's get started... Open 650x650 canvas. Open circlular template. Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize as needed. You want it a pretty good size as it will form the background basis of your tag. (see my tag as example) Selections all float defloat. New layer. Fill with a different color then the template. I chose one from the color ribbon I knew I was going to use. Fill the new layer. Selections none. Move this layer directly below the circular layer. Guassian blur 35. Apply vm extravaganaza transmission, whatever settings you like. I used the size of three. Apply guassian blur of 4 to this layer now. Move the lined layer down and to the side. You want it to appear slightly sticking out on an angle on the bottom. Duplicate this layer. Mirror and flip. Adjust as needed. You want it to do the same on the opposite upper side. Click back on the circular template layer. Open ribbon of choice. I used a ribbon wrapper but it is your call. Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize as needed. I left it fairly large and arranged it so that I would be able to cut off the attached bow. Again this is up to you. I will explain as I did. Arrange your ribbon as to how you want it on the circular template. Once you are happy click on the template layer. Selections all float defloat. Selections invert. Click back up on the ribbon layer and hit delete once. Selections none. Merge the ribbon and the template together visible. Add a soft drop shadow of choice to this layer now. Open doodle of choice. Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize as needed. Arrange to the right hand side of the template. (see my tag as example) When happy add a soft drop shadow of choice. Open bow of choice. Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize as needed. Now I myself went with a different bow here then what was attached to the ribbon wrapper. The theory behind it, is I wanted more freedom to fit flowers within and under the bow. But again it is your call. Arrange the bow to the left side right. Try to get the knot of the bow to sit right where the ribbon and the template end. Open flowers of choice. Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize as needed. I used blossoms on a branch but you can do this with any flowers really. Arrange how you want the flowers to look underneath the center of the bow, but on top of the ribbon/template. When happy duplicate the layer. Move this duplicated layer slightly over and down. Just to give the illusion of a bunch of flowers. Duplicate this layer and place it on top of the bow. Hide this layer for now. Now very carefully using your freehand selector on point to point outline the knot of your bow. Unhide the flowers on top of the bow. Click that layer and hit delete once. Selections none. It should now appear as though there is flowers stuck inside the knot, almost like it was tied around the flowers. Add a soft drop shadow now to each flower layer and finally the bow layer. Open butterfly of choice. Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize as needed. Rotate slightly to the right 5 degrees. Arrange it sort of in the middle of the doodle almost like it flew and landed there. Add a soft drop shadow of choice. Copy and paste the same butterfly as a new layer. Resize 2 percent smaller then the first time. Repeat the rotation and placement of the butterfly. It will almsot look 3-d now. Add a soft drop shadow of choice to this layer. Open frame of choice. Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize as needed. Rotate to the left 15 degrees. Move it below the bow layer. Once you have done this arrange the frame as you want it. I placed it on the bottom of the template with the tips of the ribbon just handing on the top of the frame. Click inside the frame with your magic wand. Selections modify expand x4. New layer. Fill with a light color for the background of the frame. Selections none. Move this layer directly below the frame layer. Open tube(s) of choice. I used two different ones but the same effect can be used with one tube. Rotate left 15 degree. Resize as needed. Arrange within the frame itself. Remove any excess hanging below it. Add a drop shadow of choice. Add your text where you are happy now. Apply any appropriate copyright information. Save as a png or jpeg and you're done. |
