·Jack Frost· |
This tutorial was written for those that have a working knowledge of PSP. Supplies Needed: PSP X (any version will work) Tube of choice Scrap kit of choice - I used Jack Frost by me Scrap paper of choice Circle template of choice - I provided mine in supplies Frame of choice Ribbon wrapper of choice Background scene of choice - mine is from Rainbow Coffi Decorative elements of choice - I used a wooden sign Animated snow of choice Vm extravaganza - transmission Eye candy 5 Nature - Optional Font of choice The scrapkit I used was called Jack Frost by me. It can be found HERE or HERE The circle template and animated snow I used can be found HERE I got the snow from yahoo shares and if it is yours please let me know and I will credit you. Ok let's get started... Open 650 x 650 canvas. Open circle template I supplied. Copy and paste as a new layer. Now you can either fill it with a color of choice or a scrap paper of choice. I used the paper. Open scrap paper of choice. Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize as needed. Click on the template layer. Selections all, float, defloat. Selections invert. Click on the scrap paper layer and hit delete once. Selections none. You can now delete the oringial template layer. Still on the newly filled in layer, selections all float, defloat. Modify expand x2. New layer. Open background picture of choice. I used one by Rainbow Coffi. Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize as needed. Arrange how you want it to look inside. Selections invert delete. Selections none. Move this layer directly beneath the template layer. Click on the template layer. Selection all float defloat. New layer. Fill with a color that matches from the background or tube you will be using. Selections none. Guassian blur 40%. Send layer to the bottom. Duplicate the layer. Apply vm extravagnza transmission, whatever settings you like. Lower the opacity of this layer to your own preference. Click to the very top layer. New layer. Fill with white. Send to the bottom. Hide the circle template layer. (this should be the very top layer) Merge visible all your layers. I labelled the newly merged layer background to help keep things straight. Unhide the circle template layer. Click inside the template layer with your magic wand. Modify expand x5. Leave selected until told otherwise. Now this part can take a little bit of time and can be a bit confusing but keep with it. Open the snow file included in the supplies. It is in psp format. Click on layer 1. Edit, copy. Click back on your tag. Click on the background layer. Paste as a new layer. The snow will then be there. And you want it right between the background and template layers. I labelled it 1 now to keep it straight. Repeat this exact same process to each snow layer, and labelling them on your tag 1-10. When all 10 layers are in place between the template and the background click on the template layer. Selections invert. Now clicking on the snow layers one at a time hit delete once. All the excess snow will be removed leaving you with just the middle showing within the template. Click back on the template layer and apply a soft drop shadow of choice. Duplicate the template and background layers to equal that of the snow layers. Merge them all visible so you are left with 10 layers. Now we continue to build the tag. We will merge all layers together with these layers at the very end again. Open the ribbon wrapper of choice. Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize as needed. Arrange as happy on the template. I made it look like it was wrapped right to the template but this is your call. Outline and remove any excess ribbon hanging over the template as you wish. Now what I did here was I duplicate the wrapper layer. I then took my freehand selection tool and set it to point to point. I outlined the bow so I was almost tubing it. Selection invert delete. The bow is now on it's own layer for what we will do in just a sec. Apply a drop shadow of choice to the wrapper layer you did not remove the bow from. Open frame of choice. Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize as needed. Rotate it 12 degrees to the left. Arrange it in the middle and slightly to the left side.(see my tag as example) Copy and paste the frame as another new layer. Resize slightly smaller then the first time. Rotate 12 degrees to the right. Arrange it in the middle slightly over to the opposite side.(See my tag as example) Take your magic wand and click inside the smaller frame of the two. Modify expand x4. Click on the larger frame and hit delete once. Selections none. Now arrange these two frame layers in between the wrapper layer and the bow you just cut out.(see my tag as example) When happy with placement add a soft drop shadow of choice to both layers. Open decorative elements of choice. I used the wooden sign from the kit. Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize as needed. Rotate left 12 degrees. I placed it almost in the middle of the two frames, and down slightly. Now I used eye candy 5 nature - snow here. This is up to you and completely optional. You can cover it with snow whatever way you wish, this filter just does a nice and easy job. Add whatever text you want to the sign. Add a drop shadow of choice to the text layer. Add a drop shadow of choice to the sign layer as well. Open tube of choice. I used the snowman that is inside the kit. Copy and paste as a new layer. Resize as needed. Arrange to the side of the wooden sign. Add a soft drop shadow of choice. Add your text where you are happy now. Apply any appropriate copyright information. Hide the 10 merged layers. Merge the remaining layers visible. Rename this layer to whatever you want. This is done simply to help with the merging process to keep the layers straight. Duplicate this new layer an equal amount to the merged layers. Unhide the merged layers and merge the remaining layers together to form 10 layers in total. Save as a psp file and open in animation shop. You can either set the snow speed to your own preference or leave it as is. Press play. if happy save as a gif and you are done. |
